“LongHouse Reserve has always been a place where architecture, design, and innovation intersect. We are so pleased to be in a position to advocate for some of the best work that’s being done in urban planning,” said Director Carrie Rebora Barratt, addressing a standing-room-only audience gathered for this Larsen Salon Series lecture. For this presentation, ReThink Penn Station Chair Sam Turvey spoke on The Tragedy That Is Penn Station at Robert AM Stern Architects’ offices on March 19.

Guests included LongHouse Board Members Louis Bradbury, David Fink, Nina Gillman, Michael Jones, Deborah Nevins, and Peter Olsen, as well as Peg Breen, Liz Collins, Elaina Glinn, Grant F. Marani, Jeff Mongno, Jade Ullmann, and Graham Wyatt.

The Larsen Salon Series, named in honor of LongHouse Reserve founder Jack Lenor Larsen, carries on a tradition of conversations, presentations, and lectures by designers, architects, and artists working at the intersection of art, architecture, design, and craft. LongHouse Reserve offers salons in Manhattan in various spaces to engage in important dialogues of meaning in our complex world.

ReThink Penn Station NYC is focused on the reconstruction of the original New York Penn Station, modernized for contemporary needs.
