Ore+Earth Studios, co-founded by artists Liliandra Jean Vivolo and Pauline Goss Fink, has opened at 21 North Ferry Road on Shelter Island, just a few minutes’ drive from the South Ferry.
The space serves as both a gallery and a workshop, where local artists and makers can share, connect, create, inspire, and foster a creative community to engage with the public. The gallery is hosting more than 25 local artists, including fiber artists, fine jewelers, painters, ceramicists, and more. The gallery shares space with STUDIO LJV, led by goldsmith and designer Liliandra J. Vivolo, who offers jewelry workshops and special events.
The Ore + Earth Studios artist workshop opened on August 1. The workshop is a member-based multidisciplinary studio that allows artists to create, share, and show their works. The studio will also be the home of intimate classes and workshops led by local makers and creators.
The workshops are small, with a maximum of eight participants, and are open to the public. Classes include eco-printing on silk handkerchiefs, paint and sips, printmaking, live drawing, and jewelry beading.
