Registration Is Open For The Step Up To Turn Cancer Off Challenge

The third annual Step Up to Turn Cancer Off movement event, benefiting the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation, will take place on June 19 to 26. The weeklong fundraiser is designed to challenge participants to increase their activity level to improve their health while also bringing more awareness to the crucial need to invest in cancer research.

“Despite the many advancements in the war on cancer, it remains a leading cause of death around the world,” said Dr. Samuel Waxman, SWCRF CEO and founder. “However, studies show that one of the best ways to reduce your risk is to have an active, healthy lifestyle.”

Participants can get involved in three easy steps:

First register at waxmancancer.org/stepup. There is a $50 registration fee. Next, choose your step goal by selecting between 1 and 6 famous trails to walk (virtually or in-person). An online calculator can also convert daily activities such as jogging, yoga, swimming, or gardening into “steps”. Lastly, participants are encouraged to ask friends and family to donate to their fundraising effort.

“By participating in the Step Up to Turn Cancer Off movement event, you can make a significant impact in the fight against cancer. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of cancer research and bring hope to countless lives affected by this devastating disease,” said Dr. Waxman.

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation has been at the forefront of cancer research for over four decades. Their commitment to advancing groundbreaking discoveries has led to significant advancements in cancer treatment and prevention. SWCRF expects this event to raise more than $100,000 for cancer research. Funds raised will go directly to leading scientists working on finding new preventions and treatments.
