Forty years ago, golf legend Raymond Floyd scored a legendary win at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills and landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated, sharing his trophy with his six-year-old daughter, Christina.
On the verge of that anniversary — and the U.S. Open returning to the East End later this month — Floyd will visit the Southampton Playhouse for an intimate conversation about that historic win, his lifelong relationship with golf, and his longstanding presence in Southampton on Saturday, June 6, at 4 PM.
The conversation will include a special screening of the short documentary “1986 – A Vintage Year,” recapping Floyd’s win and the energy of that day, followed by a Q&A with Floyd moderated by Golf TV anchor David Marr III.
