The 1770 House Presents Harvest Wine Dinner With Balsam Farms & Channing Daughters Winery

The 1770 House Restaurant and Inn in East Hampton presents a Harvest Wine Dinner on Thursday, October 30, welcoming Balsam Farms and Channing Daughters Winery. The evening will feature an exclusive five-course menu by Chef Michael Rozzi with wine pairings led by Wine Director Michael Cohen.

“We will recognize the best of our region’s seasonal produce and exceptional wines through our food, service, and ambience here at The 1770 House,” said Chef Michael Rozzi “Chefs often get the accolades, but this occasion is about thoughtful sourcing of ingredients and creating a menu that highlights them. It will showcase the talents of Balsam Farms’ Alex Balsam and Ian Calder-Piedmonte, along with Channing Daughters’ winemaker and partner Christopher Tracy. The dinner celebrates my long-standing working relationships with these local legends. It is my pleasure to be a part of this unique evening.”

The menu includes Montauk Striped Bass Cured in Nori Dust and Smoked Salt with Kennebec Potato Cake, Miso Crème Fraiche, and Catskill Mountain Trout Roe paired with 2023 Channing Daughters Tocai Friulano, Sylvanus Vineyard; Shinnecock Fluke, Savoy Cabbage, Leeks, Saffron, with Channing Daughters Vermouth and Osetra Caviar, paired with 2018 Channing Daughters L’Enfant Sauvage Chardonnay; Local Honey and Lavender Lacquered Long Island Duck Breast with Long Lane Cornbread and Cubanelle Pepper Chutney, paired with 2020 Channing Daughters Lagrein, Home Farm Vineyard; and Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek with Black Garlic and Sweet Soy with Coconut Scented Winter Squash and Sesame Bok Choy; paired with 2019 Petit Verdot, Mudd West Vineyard and 2020 Syrah, Mudd West Vineyard.
