Have you always wanted to write but don’t know where to begin? LongHouse Reserve presents “The Roots of Writing,” a transformative three-week workshop designed for beginners led by Bridget LeRoy and Lynn Blumenfeld.
Bridget LeRoy, editor at large at James Lane Post, brings over four decades of experience in storytelling. She has interviewed prominent figures from Steven Spielberg to Martha Stewart, garnering numerous awards for her contributions to journalism. She has also hosted shows on NPR and local Hamptons TV.
Lynn Blumenfeld, an award-winning copywriter and singer-songwriter (and lead singer for the Lynn Blue Band), enriches the workshop with her creative prowess. As a former member of the Ashawagh Hall Writers Group and contributor to publications like The Purist, Lynn offers insights into both writing and music that inspire participants to explore their voices authentically.
“No matter where you are in your writing journey, all are welcome,” said LeRoy. “Whether you are just starting out or have reached an impasse, this class will help clear the channels for creativity.”
The workshop is held on the grounds of the LongHouse at 133 Hands Creek Road in East Hampton and runs for three Saturdays — August 17, 24, and 31 — from 10 to 11:30 AM.
Drop-ins are also welcome with advance registration.
