The Southampton Arts Center held its fourth annual summer cocktail party, Whimsy: Motown Magic, on Saturday, June 29. This fundraising initiative welcomed Southampton’s residents, artists, and other community members who enjoyed gourmet fare from Robbins Wolfe, delicious cocktails, and an added attraction this year: the exciting live entertainment and dancing with That Motown Band. The event supported SAC’s mission of community building through the arts.

“We were thrilled to host Whimsy Motown Magic. One of the most talked about summer parties, this fundraising event allowed all ages to enjoy outstanding libations and entertainment while supporting Southampton Arts Center. This year, we presented a cocktail and dance party catered by Robbins Wolfe with live music by That Motown Band. Lots of guests wore their grooviest attire—think bold colors, fun patterns, and vintage ’60s and ’70s styles—to embrace the spirit of the evening fully,” shared SAC trustee and event chair Elyn Kronemeyer. “This was a wonderful way to support Southampton Arts Center, a touchstone for Southampton’s arts. We offer free admission to our galleries and numerous events and programs throughout the year. I’m grateful to the Whimsy committee who have contributed their time and energy to make this one of the best parties of the summer.”

“Whimsy was the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the beginning of the summer season. Southampton Arts Center’s mission is to build community through the arts, and we have been doing that for eleven years,” shared SAC executive director Christina Mossaides Strassfield. “Whimsy brought that community together to celebrate all the arts and our vibrant arts center in the heart of our beautiful village. We danced the night away!”
