“Arte De La Soul,” an exhibition celebrating Black History Month, begins Thursday evening, February 5, at Stella Flame Gallery in Bridgehampton.
Opening with a champagne reception from 5 to 7 PM, “Arte De La Soul” highlights the work of four distinguished Black creatives working in photography and mixed media collage.
The exhibition features Urban Zen by Donna Karan Creative Director Edward Wilkerson’s installation “Tribal Knowledge,” a body of work that reflects Wilkerson’s journey over the years, traveling to places that have always inspired him creatively.
Stan Squirewell’s “Chico & Charlie” is 15th of an edition of 20 unique prints presented in its accompanying frame, hand-carved by the artist and incised with glyphs from a long-forgotten African language.
Craig Anthony Miller’s stained glass-inspired works on canvas expand on his iconic hummingbird “Nectar” series.
Sharon Van Liempt’s mixed media collage offerings are shaped by a rich, cross-cultural perspective, exploring themes of identity, emotion, and spiritual connection.
