Share the Harvest Farm recently hosted a delightful Dahlia Night on Tuesday, September 24, where flower enthusiasts gathered on the farm for an enchanting evening filled with inspiration and community spirit.

Participants learned how to harvest their own dahlias and enjoyed walking through the fields to choose the perfect blooms for their arrangements. The flower bar featured a stunning array of options, including zinnias, sunflowers, goldenrod, celosia, and dahlias, all grown on the farm and harvested that morning.

Farm Director Matt Quirk shared his insights on the growing process of dahlias and the vital role they play on the farm. As the sun began to set, May Zegarelli from Ocean Fog Farm, an advisory board member of Share the Harvest Farm, guided attendees through the steps to create their own beautiful floral arrangements. Guests savored refreshing Summer in a Bottle Rosé by Wölffer Estate and indulged in gourmet cheese and veggie boards from Boards by Jess, all made with local produce and ingredients from the farm stand, creating a festive atmosphere.

Participants crafted vibrant dahlia arrangements, and each guest left with their arrangement in a vintage-inspired rose-colored mason jar. All proceeds from the event will support Share The Harvest’s mission of fighting food insecurity on the East End.
