Long Island Restaurant Week, the tri-annual, award-winning dining promotion, celebrates a major milestone this fall: 20 years of bringing Long Island restaurants and diners together.
Over the past two decades, Long Island Restaurant Week has not only supported the Island’s vibrant restaurant community but has also given back to the community it serves, donating more than $40,000 to local Long Island food banks and charitable organizations. One of the promotion’s primary beneficiaries over the years has been The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network), a Long Island nonprofit dedicated to assisting those challenged by hunger, homelessness, and profound poverty. LIRW is proud to have donated over $10,000 to The INN over the promotion’s lifetime.

“Since 2006, The INN has been honored to have been one of the recipients of generous donations from Long Island Restaurant Week,” said Cynthia Sucich, Chief Operating Officer for The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network). “As a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve hungry and homeless Long Islanders, these contributions have helped to support our programs that feed and shelter those in need, in a place where many are unaware of the poverty that plagues local communities. Congratulations on 20 years of Long Island Restaurant Week, and thank you for your continued generosity and help raising awareness of food insecurity where we live, work, and raise our families together.”
“Reaching 20 years is an incredible milestone for Long Island Restaurant Week and a testament to the restaurants and diners who have supported the promotion year after year,” shared Nicole Castillo of Long Island Restaurant & Hospitality Group. “What began as a way to encourage people to dine out and discover new restaurants has grown into a celebration of Long Island’s entire restaurant community. We are especially proud that along the way we have been able to give back to organizations addressing food insecurity right here on Long Island. As we celebrate this anniversary, we look forward to continuing to bring diners and restaurants together for many years to come.”
The 20th anniversary of Fall Long Island Restaurant Week will run Sunday, November 1 through Sunday, November 8, inviting diners across the Island to celebrate two decades of exceptional dining experiences, outstanding local restaurants, and unbeatable prix fixe values.
Throughout the week, participating restaurants may offer a $25 two-course lunch, a $30 three-course dinner menu, a $40 three-course dinner menu, and/or a $48 three-course dinner prix fixe. Restaurants may choose to offer one, two, or any combination of the four prix fixe options during the promotion.

Each participating restaurant is required to offer at least three options per course for dinner (appetizer, entrée, and dessert) and for lunch (appetizer and entrée or entrée and dessert). Participating restaurants must offer the $25 two-course lunch prix fixe and/or the $30, $40, or $48 three-course dinner prix fixe all night, every night they are open, or during lunch hours, from Sunday through Sunday. On Saturdays, the prix fixe menu may only be offered until 7 PM.
Since its inception, Long Island Restaurant Week has encouraged diners to explore Long Island’s diverse culinary landscape while giving restaurants a chance to welcome new guests and reconnect with longtime customers. This fall, the promotion marks 20 years of celebrating the chefs, restaurateurs, and dining destinations that make Long Island a vibrant place to dine.
To commemorate the milestone, Long Island Restaurant Week is making its popular Gift Card Giveaway bigger than ever. In honor of 20 years, 20 winners will each receive a $100 gift card to a participating restaurant of their choice, giving diners more opportunities to experience and support Long Island’s restaurant community.

The 20th Anniversary Gift Card Giveaway Sweepstakes begins on Monday, October 26, and ends on Monday, November 9, at 11:59 PM. To enter for a chance to win, diners must visit the Long Island Restaurant Week website during the Sweepstakes Period and submit their information through the online entry form.
