Participant Registration Now Open For The 85th Artist Members Exhibition At Guild Hall

Guild Hall 158 Main Street, East Hampton, NY, USA

Guild Hall (158 Main Street, East Hampton) has announced that registration for the 85th Artist Members Exhibition (AME) is currently open. All Guild Hall members 18+ years of age are eligible to participate. This year’s exhibition will welcome Awards Juror Storm Ascher, an independent curator, writer, and founder of Superposition Gallery and The Hamptons Black Arts Council. The Artist Members Exhibition opens on Sunday, November 17, 2024, and runs through January 5, 2024, with a member preview day on November 16.

The Artist Members Exhibition began in 1938, and Guild Hall has continued this long-standing democratic tradition by hosting the oldest non-juried museum exhibition on Long Island. The lively presentation will feature more than 300 works and showcases in a variety of mediums. As in the traditional salon exhibition, works by established artists are exhibited alongside those of emerging talents and first exhibitors, offering a sampling of artistic practices within our community. The initiative provides an opportunity for visitors to support and celebrate the artists who live and work in our immediate region and for the artists to sell their works while also supporting Guild Hall. Early participants included James Brooks, Willem de Kooning, Lee Krasner, Alfonso Ossorio, Charlotte Park, Jackson Pollock, and many more.

In conjunction with the AME, the 2021 Top Honors winner of the 83rd Artist Members Exhibition, Linda Reville Eisenberg’s exhibition entitled Still, will be on view in the Marks Family Gallery North/Tito Spiga Exhibition Space. Selected by Antwaun Sargeant, Gagosian Director and Curator, Linda uses traditional painting techniques to explore a variety of genres within the art-historical canon. For her presentation at Guild Hall, she will present two focused projects—still-life paintings of vessels and a selection of intimate portraits. This exhibition is organized by Melanie Crader, director of visual arts with Philippa Content, museum registrar and exhibition coordinator.

Galleries will be open Thursday to Sunday from noon to 5 PM, and museum admission is always free.
