Keara & Matt

Some love stories begin with years of friendship. Others begin with perfect timing. For Keara and Matt, it began thousands of miles from home under the Italian sun.

The two were both students at Boston College, somehow sharing the same campus without ever crossing paths. It was not until the summer of 2018, during a four-week theology program abroad in Rome before their junior year, that everything changed. What started as exploring Italy together quickly turned into something undeniable. Their connection felt immediate, effortless, and deeply natural from the very beginning.

As their relationship grew, so did the collection of places that would become part of their story together. For Keara, one place had always been there from the beginning, a place known simply as The End.

Montauk had always been woven into Keara’s life story. Summers spent by the water since childhood, beach days with family, bonfires under the stars, competing in the Montauk Triathlon, and dinners at Montauk Lake Club shaped some of her most cherished memories. It was the backdrop of countless moments and the place where she had quietly imagined her wedding day since she was a little girl.

Years later, hosting their celebration at her family home made the weekend feel even more personal.

The property itself shaped everything. Surrounded by ocean air, nature, and the effortless beauty that defines Montauk, the celebration unfolded with an aesthetic that blended coastal ease with elevated garden party sophistication. Guests were not simply invited to a wedding. They were welcomed into a home, into a history, and into a family.

“We wanted it to feel warm, joyful, and full of love,” Keara shared. “Almost like receiving a hug from our family the moment guests arrived.”

Throughout the weekend, thoughtful details reflected both families and the life Keara and Matt had built together.

Thoughtful personal touches were woven throughout the entire weekend. The bride wore her mother-in-law’s wedding hair clip at the welcome party, while the celebration at the Montauk Lake Club honored the groom’s family’s love of lake life growing up in the Midwest. The weekend’s tagline, Ocean Meets Lake, symbolized the joining of the East Coast and Midwest. Hosting the reception at the bride’s family home reflected the warmth and hospitality that shaped the weekend, while handmade matches, signature cocktails, and thoughtful details layered the celebration with meaning and intention.

Family tradition sat beautifully at the center of it all.

Their wedding date carried extraordinary significance, sharing the same day as the bride’s maternal grandparents’ 67th wedding anniversary. During the reception, her grandparents lit their original wedding candle together as a deeply moving symbol of enduring love and good fortune for the newlyweds. The weekend also happened to celebrate multiple milestones at once, including Keara’s 28th birthday, her sister’s birthday, and the couple’s seven-year anniversary.

When it came to fashion, every look reflected a different piece of the story.

Keara had always been drawn to the romance and timeless elegance of lace, and Monique Lhuillier’s designs captured exactly the feeling she envisioned for the wedding day. The gown felt feminine, refined, and effortlessly romantic.

For the welcome celebration, she wore a silk white dress with a pearl neckline as a subtle nod to Montauk’s coastal charm and understated elegance. For the after-party, she wanted the look to feel playful yet elevated.

Keara changed into a short silk dress paired with custom cowboy boots embroidered with her husband’s last name, “Beck,” and our wedding date, a nod to their time in Dallas, which was a detail that made the look feel deeply personal.

Matt’s style reflected the setting equally thoughtfully.

A relaxed beige suit welcomed guests to Montauk for the weekend, while a deep blue tuxedo for the wedding day carried a hidden detail he will always keep close: their wedding date embroidered in gold inside the jacket pocket.

Some of the most meaningful moments happened quietly.

Preparing for their church ceremony became one of the most unexpectedly important parts of planning. Working alongside Father Tony Penna and intentionally preparing for the sacrament created a ceremony that felt deeply personal. Walking down the aisle with her father remains one of Keara’s most emotional memories of the weekend.

The couple also intentionally carved out moments to experience privately together.

They exchanged personal vows on the beach the day before the wedding. They stayed side by side throughout the reception rather than getting pulled into opposite directions. They kept their phones away and remained fully present.

It allowed them to experience the weekend not as hosts, but simply as two people fully present together, creating memories side by side and experiencing every part of the celebration as one.

One core memory Keara will always hold onto is their first look beneath the trellis by the pool. Seeing Matt for the first time brought an overwhelming rush of emotion and joy, a moment she had imagined happening in that exact spot ever since she was a little girl. A place tied to childhood memories became the backdrop for an entirely new chapter together.

As golden hour settled over the property, cocktail hour unfolded beneath glowing skies while friends and family gathered together surrounded by the natural beauty of Montauk. The clear-top tent illuminated the evening landscape as laughter carried throughout the celebration, creating a feeling that felt almost surreal in both its beauty and joy.

As the evening continued, the celebration transformed effortlessly into an unforgettable party. Guests still talk about the incredible sushi, signature cocktails, and energy that filled the dance floor throughout the night.

The Barnstorm created an atmosphere that felt more like a live concert than a wedding reception, bringing an energy that carried through every part of the evening.

The atmosphere throughout the evening felt electric and effortless, creating what Keara and Matt still describe as the most fun night of their lives.

At one unforgettable point, Matt joined the band on stage while Keara crowd surfed to Pink Pony Club surrounded by family and friends.

It perfectly captured the personality, energy, and spirit that carried through the entire weekend.

Some places hold memories. Others become part of them. For Keara and Matt, Montauk became both.

“One of the most defining elements of Keara and Matthew’s wedding was the clear-top tent. Constructed over more than a week and elevated nearly 10 feet off the ground to preserve unobstructed ocean views, it completely transformed the property while still allowing guests to feel connected to the landscape. During the day, natural light poured through the structure, creating an airy coastal atmosphere, while layered lighting and design elements brought warmth and romance as the evening unfolded beneath the night sky,” reflected Rebecca, the wedding planner from Lovely Indeed Events.

“Thoughtful details throughout the celebration made the design feel personal and cohesive, from the custom monogram woven throughout the weekend to oyster shell escort displays, custom matches, and soft coastal textures layered throughout the space. Every element was designed to complement the setting rather than compete with it, allowing the natural beauty of Montauk and the personal history tied to the property to remain at the center of the experience,” she continued.

The result was a celebration that felt deeply personal from beginning to end, thoughtful in every detail, rooted in place, and entirely reflective of Keara and Matt’s story.
