For the final 2026 InsiderOutsider: New Voices in the Art World event at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton, in collaboration with Ma’s House, Kindall Gant leads an immersive eco-creation workshop. This session combines poetry writing and visual collage, encouraging participants to explore layering both language and images.
On Sunday, October 4, from 3 to 5 PM, participants can join a guided walk through the sculpture garden. This experience aims to initiate the creative process by encouraging participants to pause, observe, and absorb the land’s textures, forms, and seasonal rhythms, allowing their personal reactions to the environment to inspire new work.
Kindall Gant, a Black femme interdisciplinary poet from New Orleans now based in Brooklyn, uses visual storytelling as a form of liberation, blending poetry with expressive media such as film, visual art, music, and photography.
InsiderOutsider highlights underrepresented artists who challenge convention, expand the limits of contemporary art, and foster meaningful conversations. The series is produced in partnership with Jeremy Dennis and the artists-in-residence of Ma’s House on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, a hub for indigenous and BIPOC artists.
