Outdoor Sculpture Exhibitions At Bridge Gardens & Southampton Art Center

“Windseed” by Norman Mooney will be on view at Bridge Gardens

The Southampton Arts Center and the Peconic Land Trust’s Bridge Gardens present a partnership with Hamptons Sculpture SIGHTS, an outdoor sculpture exhibition series founded and curated by Cheryl Sokolow of C Fine Art.

This initiative promises to enhance the cultural landscape of the Hamptons by showcasing exceptional outdoor sculptures across multiple locations for the season, making dynamic large-scale sculptures accessible to the community.

Uncommon Ground returns to Bridge Gardens for its sixth edition. “Uncommon Ground VI” examines our relationship with the natural world and the one that we create. The dynamic of “the garden” itself, with its undulating play between the cultivated and purely natural, provides the substrate or ground from which the sculptures are seemingly born.

The exhibition, entitled “Organic Abstraction: Contemporary Outdoor Sculpture,” returns to the grounds of the Southampton Art Center for its second season. The exhibition explores the materials, processes, and techniques of established, internationally recognized, museum-collected sculptors working within a formalist paradigm.

Participating artists include Bill Barrett, Joel Perlman, Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Jane Manus, Kevin Barrett, Norman Mooney, Carole Eisner, Alex Barrett, Matt Devine, John Clement, Isobel Folb Sokolow, Michael Enn Sirvet, Steve Zaluski, Aurelio Torres, and Jerelyn Hanrahan.

Both exhibits open on June 7 and run through Labor Day.
