From August 13 through August 15, the Parrish Art Museum will host its Midsummer Weekend — three distinct events that bring together artists, art collectors, curators, philanthropists, and business leaders from the Hamptons, New York City, and beyond.
The weekend kicks off with Midsummer Dance featuring a DJ Set by James Murphy (DFA Records/LCD Soundsystem) on Friday, August 13. A Midsummer Dinner will take place on Saturday, August 14, with cocktails and a seated dinner. The Midsummer Family benefit will close the festivities on Sunday, August 15, featuring a performance by the National Circus project and a creative workshop with artist Nathan Carter.
The Midsummer Dinner honors artist Tomashi Jackson, whose exhibition “The Land Claim” will be on view. Dorothy Lichtenstein is the event’s Honorary Chair. Dorothy is a philanthropist who has long supported the Parrish and her late husband is the subject of “Roy Lichtenstein: History in the Making, 1948–1960.” Guests at all events will have the opportunity to view those and other special exhibitions as well as the outdoor exhibition “Field of Dreams.”
