The Retreat’s annual Nancy Cohn Memorial Love-All Against Abuse Tennis Tournament drew supporters and players to Sportime Amagansett on July 11. The event raised over $100,000 to support The Retreat’s mission of providing safety, shelter, and hope to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking across Long Island.
This year’s tournament honored the Cohn family – Evan Cohn, Lisa Schweitzer, and their children – in loving memory of Nancy and Myron Cohn. Nancy Cohn was a founding board member of The Retreat, and the Cohn family’s lifelong generosity has helped shape and sustain The Retreat’s work.
The afternoon featured a clinic-style tournament led by Sportime Amagansett pros. Players and non-players alike then gathered under a tented reception for cocktails, mocktails courtesy of MAKE Matcha Co., and hors d’oeuvres from Mati Cafe at Sportime. A live auction led by Kathryn Gregorio and Retreat Board Member Anne Kothari offered guests the chance to bid on a variety of luxury items, including a Canyon Ranch resort stay, a catamaran sail, and VIP tickets to the New York Knicks, New York Giants, and Gotham FC.
A silent auction featuring more than 45 items – spanning wellness, travel, fashion, and unique experiences – rounded out the day’s fundraising, along with a raffle for a Celine Vertical Cabas Tote once owned by style icon and former Retreat Board President Gail Rothwell.
This year’s event was made possible by sponsors Larry and Laura Rosenstock; Assi Elian; and Susi and Peter Wunsch, as well as Corporate Sponsors Citarella, Cob, kiki de montparnasse, MadHippie, and MAKE Matcha Co.
The Tennis Committee included Daniela Iankova, Samantha Roady, Chris Satek and Darby McHugh, led by Retreat Board Member Anne Kothari. Proceeds from the Nancy Cohn Memorial Love-All Against Abuse Tennis Event sustain The Retreat’s lifesaving services, including a 24-hour multilingual hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, prevention education, and fatherhood training.
