The Watermill Center has launched a new program of sensory-friendly tours in honor of Autism Awareness Month.
The first of the series will be held on Saturday, April 30, with future dates to be announced. The Center’s sensory-friendly tours increase access to the site through accommodations made for neurodiverse visitors.
Tours of The Watermill Center’s carefully curated art collection, manicured gardens, expansive library, and historic building offer a chance to see the 10+ acre campus and how it acts as a source of inspiration for year-round Artists-in-Residence.
Natural lighting is used when possible, ambient sound is kept to a minimum, and materials are made available prior to visitor’s arrival to give time to review and plan the visit.
The Watermill Center’s sensory-friendly tours are open to all. For special accommodation requests, contact education@watermillcenter.org. To register, click here.
