The Southampton Arts Center will presents Film + Panel: Doctrine of Discovery on Monday, October 11, at 5 PM.
In celebration and recognition of National Indigenous People’s Day, SAC will present a special screening of the documentary film, “Doctrine of Discovery: Unmasking the Domination Code,” with Blossom Sustainable Development, Native American Community Services of Erie and Niagara Counties, Inc., and Shinnecock Nation.
The film tells the story of how little known Vatican documents of the fifteenth century resulted in a tragic global momentum of domination and dehumanization. Throughout the film, there will be pauses for discussion with Pete Hill of NACS and Meesha Johnson of Blossom Sustainable Development.
