Jessica Chastain Stars In ‘A Doll’s House’ On Broadway

Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain will inhabit the iconic role of Nora Helmer in “A Doll’s House” on Broadway.

“A Doll’s House” pushed theatrical drama firmly into the modern age when it premiered in 1879. Written by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, the play tells the story of a married woman, who at the time lacked reasonable opportunities for self-fulfillment in a male-dominated world. It was a sensation at the time, causing a bit of controversy.

Now, nearly a century-and-a-half later, Tony Award nominee Jamie Lloyd and acclaimed playwright Amy Herzog will tell the story that shocked audiences and brought forth a new era of theater, re-energizing the play for a whole new generation.

Chastain will be joined by Arian Moayed, a Tony Award and Emmy Award nominee, as Torvald Helmer, Jesmille Darbouze as Kristine Linde, Tasha Lawrence as Anne-Marie, Michael Patrick Thornton as Dr. Rank, and Grammy Award winner Okieriete Onaodowan as Nils Krogstad.

The limited 16-week engagement will play Broadway’s Hudson Theatre with preview performances beginning Monday, February 13, ahead of a Thursday, March 9, opening night.
