The East Hampton Library will present a book launch party and talk for “Kings of the Coast, Montauk,” a recently published book by East Hampton author David Cataletto, on Wednesday, October 14, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. This event is geared toward middle and high school students (grades 6 and up), though adults are welcome to attend.
Join Cataletto as he shares the history and inspiration behind his novel — a historical adventure set right here on the East End in the 1600s. Written for teens and young adults, this talk breaks down the real history, people, and local events that inspired the story.
Cataletto will share what it was like to bring early Montauk back to life and read a few action-packed scenes, including a Montaukett whale hunt and the wedding raid that kicks off the book’s main adventure. The talk will be followed by a Q&A, book signing, and refreshments.
