Mariachi Herencia De México Bring World-Class Mexican Folk Music To WHBPAC

The contemporary mariachi ensemble Mariachi Herencia de México will make their Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center debut on November 11 at 8 PM.

Recently nominated for a Latin Grammy Award, the group hails from Chicago “but their roots are firmly planted in Mexico,” said WHBPAC Marketing Director Heather Draskin. The evening will also feature special guest singer La Marisoul, the California-based lead singer of the Grammy-nominated band La Santa Cecilia.

“This night will be a celebration of Mexican heritage and culture for audiences of all ages to enjoy,” said WHBPAC Executive Director Julienne Penza-Boone.

The energetic, virtuosic Latin Grammy-nominated group has issued chart-topping albums and performed across North America. “Nuestra Herencia,” their 2017 debut album, topped the Latin streaming charts. 2018’s “Herencia de la Tierra Mía” was produced by celebrated industry veteran Javier Limón and charted atop all major streaming services. Their latest release, 2022’s “Herederos” was released amid a wildly successful North American tour.

Comprised of eleven exceptionally talented musicians, many of whom have been studying the mariachi tradition from a young age, the group exudes a high level of passion and artistry. Mariachi Herencia de México not only pays homage to the traditional, folkloric musical style often found in Guadalajara and Oaxaca, but also offers fresh interpretations and contemporary sounds that are reminiscent of their Chicago hometown.

“As cultural ambassadors they bridge the gap between generations while preserving the rich traditions of Mexican folk music. People of all ages will be blown away by their sound,” said Draskin.

Tickets are $71-96 plus fees and can be purchased at whbpac.org.
