OLA’s Pachanga Music & Dance Event Heads To Riverhead’s Suffolk Theater

Minerva Perez, executive director of OLA of Eastern Long Island.

For the first time, OLA of Eastern Long Island’s popular signature cultural event, Pachanga—featuring Latin rhythms, dancing, food, and drink—will take place in Riverhead at the atmospheric Suffolk Theater. This year’s Pachanga will be steeped in elegance, reminiscent of a night at an old-style club in the tropics.

This year’s theme, “Elevate, Collaborate, Thrive,” celebrates the vibrancy and warmth of people and communities united across cultures. OLA’s Pachanga will feature Los Tigres, an electrifying eight-piece Latin ensemble led by pianist and vocalist Nick Corredor and featuring Grammy Award-winning conga player Tony Rosa. The ensemble will perform salsa, bachata, and cumbia. The evening will also feature Mila Tina’s dynamic rhythms, multisensory percussion, and a brief performance by an emerging artist.

“We’re thrilled to bring our Pachanga to Riverhead for the first time,” said Minerva Perez, executive director of OLA of Eastern Long Island. “As an organization that serves and advocates for the rights of Latinos in all five East End towns, we want to make sure that our arts offerings reach people in Riverhead and the North Fork as well as the South Fork. We’re also excited that Los Tigres will be headlining the evening and that people will be able to enjoy their wonderful, uplifting Latin dance music in the beautiful Suffolk Theater.”

Mila Tina will start the evening with her innovative performance involving drums, percussion, dance, visual design, and technology. Then, the sounds of Los Tigres will inspire people to leave their seats and dance to their old-school rhythms. Corredor’s commitment to authenticity and innovation has positioned the band as a fresh yet nostalgic force, captivating audiences with its high-energy performances and deep respect for the history of Latin music.

In addition to the live music and dancing, appetizers and alcoholic (21 and over) and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase.
