On August 4, Share the Harvest Farm marked its 15th season with a sold-out event on its farm fields at EECO Farm in East Hampton. The celebration featured a lively performance by REEB (Real East End Brass) Band, a group of local school teachers, and showcased the best of the East End’s culinary and artisanal offerings.

The event brought together over 45 East End vendors who donated their time, food, and locally-made products. Guests enjoyed a wide variety of treats, from fresh-shucked oysters by Oyster Bliss and Pulled Pork Sliders by East End Cowboy to Nikki’s Not Dogs, Gazpacho Shooters by Aki’s Kitchen, and the most glorious grazing table by Boards by Jess, full of STHF’s produce and locally curated products. The evening was further elevated by a custom fresh-pressed welcome cocktail by Boa Vida Goods and East + Palm, “Summer in a Bottle” by Wölffer Estate, local wines by Channing Daughters Vineyard, and craft beers by Springs Brewery.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Snail of Approval Award to Share the Harvest Farm, presented to Meredith Arm, Executive Director, and Matt Quirk, Farm Director, by Ralph and Nancy Reinertsen and the board of Slow Food East End. This award honors the farm’s dedication to sustainable practices and significant contributions to the community.

“Share the Harvest is one of the most deserving recipients of our prestigious Snail of Approval award. They check off all the boxes that are in our stringent evaluation with the greatest of ease. They donate 80 percent of their harvest to those less fortunate in their community, which is an incredible amount. Usually, the interview process lasts about one hour. After about 2 1/2 hours, a delicious lunch, and a wonderful tour, we had to drag ourselves away. We also would like to acknowledge the wonderful generosity of their clientele and donors. This is one of the great farms of the South Fork,” said Ralph Reinertsen, Chairman of Snail of Approval.
