The Village of Southampton, NYS Center for Clean Water Technology, and Lake Agawam Conservancy are teaming up to help residents remove wastewater from individual septic systems on Saturday, November 22, from 2 to 3:30 PM at the Southampton Cultural Center.

This informative community event will show homeowners how they can upgrade their homes with a low-nitrogen septic system, funded by non-taxable grants that often cover the entire cost — including any associated landscaping.

Included at the event will be a welcome address by Deputy Mayor Leonard Zinnanti, and a talk on the role of nitrogen from septic systems promoting toxic blue-green algae blooms in Southampton Village water bodies, with Dr. Christopher Gobler, Director of the Center for Clean Water Technology. There will also be a Q&A Session, moderated by Ann Welker, Suffolk County Legislator, featuring David Rhoades, President of TF Engineering, PLLC.

Free resources and application assistance are available for Village residents.
