The Church in Sag Harbor presents a meetup at Sylvester Manor’s inaugural art exhibition on Shelter Island on Saturday, September 7.
Tom Cugliani, curator of the inaugural Sculpture @ Sylvester Manor exhibition, leads a specially reserved 90-minute tour for The Church participants. Meet at 10 AM on the Shelter Island side of the Ferry or at 10:15 AM at Sylvester Manor. The tour begins at 10:30 AM and includes a final look at the exhibition before it closes the following day.
The ambitious project, which spans a small portion of the former plantation’s woodlands and gardens, features 25 esteemed local artists. While some of the works included address the former slaveholding plantation’s past, others address the context of the natural landscape and the changes it has undergone. For more information about the exhibition and a complete list of artists, visit the Sylvester Manor exhibition page here.
Tickets are $20. Transportation and ferry tickets are not included in the ticket price and must be purchased separately. Visit The Church’s website.
