Philanthropist and author Jean Shafiroff hosted her Annual Bastille Day Luncheon at the elegant Maison Barnes Restaurant in New York City. The luncheon was held in honor of the French Heritage Society, a charity whose board Jean has served on since 2012.
This year, 56 distinguished guests attended, including a prince, seven fashion designers, successful businesspeople, politicians, attorneys, an international artist, actors, a famous doctor, and other notables. The guests enjoyed a specially curated gourmet luncheon prepared in the kitchen of Cafe Boulud, which is owned and operated by renowned chef Daniel Boulud.
Attendees included Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, philanthropist Barbara Tober, fashion designers Frederick Anderson, Nicole Miller, B Michael, Malan Breton, Victor de Souza, Nabys Vielman, and Ese Azenabour. Others in attendance included artist Hunt Slonum, former Lieutenant Governor of NY Betsy McCaughey, NYS Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, Ava Roosevelt, Matt Rich, Bill McCuddy, Susan Gutfreund, Ramona Singer, David Hochberg, Consuelo Vanderbilt, Fashion Institute of Technology’s Deputy Director Patricia Mears and the Executive Director of the French Heritage Society, Jennifer Heirlan and Howard Sobel.
Making a fashion statement at the luncheon, Jean Shafiroff initially wore a flowered summer stretch knit outfit by Oscar de la Renta and then later changed into a pajama style pants suit by Alexander McQueen. She is a patron of the fashion industry and has served on the board of the Couture Council of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) since 2010.
