Serafina Restaurant Group’s latest collaboration with alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet is a take on one of Italy’s most popular Christmas desserts, the Panettone. The Serafina x A+O panettone cake partnership combines creativity and culinary art. The Serafina panettone cakes wrapped in alice + olivia’s “Stace Face” design launched Monday, December 11 and is available at four of Serafina’s restaurant locations in New York City.
The “pane di toni’ or panettone can be dated back to the 15th century in Milan. From there, the panettone has become Italy’s signature Christmas cake. To highlight Serafina Restaurant Group owners Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato’s Italian upbringing, they have teamed up with award-winning Italian pastry chef Andrea Zanin. Zanin’s panettone masterpiece was crafted after 30 years of culinary research. Using the highest quality ingredients create a true gastronomic experience, while organic sourdough, with its 48-hour long fermentation, grants the product aromas, softness and flavor. The chef’s panettone won an award for the best traditional panettone and was named one of “The Best Pastry Chefs in the World” by the World International Pastry Championship.
This collaboration with alice + olivia is a natural fit as Serafina Restaurant Group owners Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato are longtime fans of the brand. The “Stace Face” print that covers the cakes is an icon of the alice + olivia brand and has been featured on everything from t-shirts, sweaters, handbags and many of the brands other collaborations.
“There is a reason this was named the best panettone cake in Italy. It’s the best panettone I’ve ever tried,” said Serafina Restaurant Group owner Vittorio Assaf. “Every bite master’s the art of sweetness, the layers of different flavors melt in your mouth. We loved partnering with Alice + Olivia on this collaboration, as their ‘Stace Face’ print is such an iconic and fun design, it adds a fashionable flair of decoration to the festive dessert.”
“We are long-time fans of the alice + olivia brand and look forward to partnering with them more in the future,” said Serafina Restaurant Group owner Fabio Granato. “Celebrate Christmas the Italian way with this classic candied sweetbread.”
