Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital’s Sixth Annual Walk To Recovery To Benefit Behavioral Services

The sixth annual Walk to Recovery, a 5K walk/run to support Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, drew more than 120 runners on Sunday, October 15, to Orient State Park.

Participants of all ages demonstrated their support for behavioral health services during the event. The morning featured community members, students, staff, and mental health supporters who lined up at the starting line to do their part in standing up to mental health stigma.

Paul J. Connor III, Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Chief Administrative Officer, welcomed participants and guests to the event saying, “We are here today to increase awareness that we are Suffolk County’s only facility that offers integrated care that encompasses detoxification, rehabilitation, and psychiatric services along with medical care with a track record of proven success throughout Suffolk County.”
