Bay Street Hosts Public Forum To Discuss New Building

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts will host a live, in-person and online Public Forum to discuss the building and site of the new Bay Street Theater, on Saturday, May 1, at 4 PM.

In-person seating at the Theater will be limited and will adhere to strict COVID safety regulations, including proof of full vaccinations, masks, and social distancing. For those unable to attend, the live event will be broadcast simultaneously via baystreet.org.

The event itself will begin with a brief presentation of the project as well as any updates available at that time. Following the presentation, the meeting will proceed directly into a Q-&-A session, and questions that were previously submitted will be answered as well as those from audience members who wish to speak. Each person will be limited to 90 seconds in order to allow as many as possible to partake. The public forum will end promptly at 6 PM. It will be the first of many to come over the course of the project.

Presenting will be Executive Director Tracy Mitchell and Artistic Director Scott Schwartz, in addition to representatives from Friends of Bay Street, Adam Potter, Chairman, and Director of External Affairs, Stephen Hamilton, who was one of the three co-founders of Bay Street Theater (along with Emma Walton-Hamilton and Sybil Christopher).

Registration is required for both and can be made at baystreet.org. Doors will open for the in-person audience at 3:30 PM. Those not seated by 3:55 PM will lose their reservation to anyone waiting to get in.

Those attending virtually may provide any questions in advance to marshall@baystreet.org.
