A Walk Outside: Hubbard County Park

Each week James Lane Post will highlight a different spot to explore outdoors on the East End in our series “A Walk Outside.” This week: Hubbard County Park in Flanders.

Hubbard County Park in Flanders offers activities like fishing at freshwater Penny Pond, hunting, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking.

On this 1,815 acre park, you’ll find a landscape of beach grass, pine trees, prairie grasses, and salt marsh. Its home to wildlife like clams, scallops, osprey, blue heron, turtles, and reptiles.

There’s a 2.6 mile hiking trail along the park, fine for all skill levels.
