We spoke to LaMarca to learn more.

Can you tell us about your background and journey to becoming a content creator?

I am 24 years old, born and raised in central New Jersey. I studied health sciences in college at the University of South Florida and then graduated from Rutgers University with a Master’s in Health Administration, but I have always been creative and passionate about the fashion and beauty space. I started sharing my life consistently on TikTok during my fall semester in 2022. I immediately paid attention to what was resonating with the audience I was building, and grew to be more vulnerable online. I was quickly growing after I started sharing my hair routines, makeup looks, and everything in between. I balanced both school and social media through graduation in May 2024 until I officially began doing social media full-time. My platforms and the community I built changed my life in more ways than one!

You’re an advocate for embracing natural curls. Tell us about your viral curly hair routine.

I have always had curly, unmanageable hair and never wanted to wear my natural hair texture in public because I never knew how to tame it. Growing up, I would straighten my hair every day, and it wasn’t until I started classic trial-and-error methods that I began wearing it naturally. Ironically, my viral curly hair routine was created by accident:

  • Soaking wet hair
  • Brush through (only time throughout the routine)
  • Leave-in conditioner (apply generously through hair for extra nourishment)
  • Curl Cream (apply root to tip)
  • Sculpting Gel (scrunch across entire head)
  • Diffuse or Air-dry hair (diffusing is quicker)
  • Nourishing oil (re-scrunch entire head to break gel cast and “scrunch out the crunch”)

As said in many of my videos, this routine “changed my life.” My curls were now defined, bouncy, and frizz-free. Sharing this exact routine on my profiles is what catapulted my career as a beauty creator. Creating this routine and falling in love with my curls has given me the confidence to embrace my natural hair and push myself out of my comfort zone. My hope is that sharing my experiences inspires and empowers my audience to reconnect with, love, and embrace their natural selves, including anything they might believe to be a flaw.

Can you tell us about any upcoming special projects and what’s next for you?

Social media has taught me the sky is truly the limit. Throughout the remainder of 2025, I plan to bridge the gap between my platforms and my passion for business, working with companies, investors, and manufacturers. By 2026, I will be launching a project of my own, and I am excited to share it with the world and my audience. I plan to continue sharing my routines, tutorials, and day-to-day life, and hope to have my followers grow alongside me.
