Barryville General, a modern general store, opened in Southampton Village in August. Located at 1 and 15 Hill Street, it offers fresh, local, and organic groceries, thoughtfully curated apparel, and home goods. “We’re reinforcing our presence Out East,” said co-founder Eric Komoroff. “Barryville General is dedicated to creating a place where shopping is both convenient and enjoyable, and where the products are as considerate as the experience itself.”
The BG Market is designed for those who want to live a healthier lifestyle and shop in one place. Barryville General has vetted every product, from local and organic produce, dairy, meats, and gluten-free snacks to craft beers and natural elixirs. The market also offers prepared foods like soups, salads, sandwiches, and a coffee and tea bar.
“We’re here to offer food resources for the entire community, ensuring that the products are local, fresh, and high quality,” said co-founder Sharone Komoroff. “At BG, we focus on more than just food. The experience of shopping here is just as important as the products we sell.”
The BG Goods section showcases a unique selection of apparel and accessories. It offers iconic brands like Levi’s, Wrangler, and Dockers alongside smaller, hard-to-find collections such as Transnomadica and Flower Mountain. Customers can also explore handpicked vintage items. This modern general store concept blends fashion with function.
The team prides itself on building personal connections with customers. “We want people to feel like they’re part of a healthy, supportive community when they shop with us. It’s about knowing customers by name, being able to ask questions, and getting to know the people behind the products,” said Sharone.
After 35 years as a mainstay on Sag Harbor’s Main Street, Sylvester & Co. has closed its doors. Their staple coffee brand will now be served at Barryville General in Southampton. “We are installing a DREAM BAR at Barryville General Store in Southampton. Eric, Sean, and Sharone are a dream team, and we are happy for this partnership,” said a statement from the team.
Barryville General will host events and pop-ups featuring local artisans. “Kindness is cool, and we’re here year-round for locals, providing something they won’t find anywhere else out East,” said Eric.
